Mother's Day a few more weeks, what gifts would you give?

in the T-V broadcast channel A-B-C shows that 38% of men buy gifts or gifts to
mothers, wife, sisters or their daughters at the last minute, while 48% of
women have been shopping a week earlier. The goods are usually gift on Mother's
Day, fragrances, be it perfume, candles, flowers, jewelry and cosmetics and
body beauty instrument. Books, telephone, and office equipment is equally in
demand for gifts women working in the office.
Talking
about the significance of Mother's Day, written in history that started from
spring warning for people of ancient Greece in honor of Rhea, the mother of the
gods. After that in the 16th century, the English nation commemorates the day
that they called "Mothering Sunday", in honor of mothers.
On
the day of Mothering Sunday, the servants had been allowed to take a vacation
and are encouraged to return to their homes and spend time with their mothers.
A special cake, called the mothering cake is often served as a warning sign of
appreciation for mothers.
And
then, when Christianity spread across Europe, the commemoration day of the
mother changes with respect Mother Church, which is considered as the source of
life that protects them from tyranny. Thus, the festival at the church after it
was mixed up with a warning Mothering Sunday, and since then the community
respect their mother as well as the respect of the church.
Mother's
Day in America was first proposed in 1872 by Julia Ward Howe, author of the
lyrics of the song "The Battle Hymn of the Republic" devoted to
peace. Each year, Howe took care of Mother's Day meetings in Boston,
Massachusetts. In 1907, Ana Jarvis origin of Philadelphia, began to campaign
for Mother's Day was officially recognized. Jarvis tried to persuade a mother
at a church in West Virginia to commemorate two years of the death of her
mother, in the second week of May. The following year, Mother's Day was also
celebrated in Philadelphia on Sunday and the same month.
Jarvis
and her supporters began to write letters to ministers, businessmen and
politicians to ask for approval national Mother's Day. In 1911, efforts
resulted, and since then, Mother's Day is celebrated in almost all states.
Woodraw Wilson the President, in 1914 promulgated the Mother's Day as a
national holiday which is celebrated every second week of May.
Many
other countries also commemorate Mother's Day on different days, but countries
such as Denmark, Finland, Belgium, Italy, Australia, and Turkey celebrate it on
the same day as the United States.
On
Mother's Day, many Americans took the mother and or their women have lunch or
dinner together. Most restaurants filled by those who are reluctant to cook at
home. For those who love to cook and stay home, they cook for mothers or their
women that day. Pamper and respect for women in general and mothers in
particular as a recompense those who work hard every day for the family, her
husband and her children.
